The use of Link Ports
While All the DSPs are shared on the multiprocessor bus, it is possible to transfer data between DSPs without using it.
There are four link port connections between every two DSPs. They use background DMA transfers internally, and do not tie up the multiprocessor bus.
They are bi-directional 8-bit wide connections that operate at half the clock rate of the DSP.
